Job Description

Assembly
Objective
To design, cut and shape metal as per client’s request. Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, structural steel, and sheet steel. 

Duties and Responsibilities
Level I:  
•    Responsible for adhering to all Company and Project safety programs, policies, and procedures as well as all Federal, State, and local safety codes and regulations. 
•    Create sub-assemblies by assembling prefabricated elements.
•    Layout and assemble the work according to the specifications provided by sketches, prints, written instructions, and verbal directions.
•    Performs structural and cosmetic fiberglass and carbon fiber repairs to a variety of props, show figures and miscellaneous theming parts.
•    Utilize measuring tools, blueprint lines, and index points, position and align subassemblies
•    Novice skills and familiarity with typical carpentry hand tools, power tools and applications
•    Use of tools including spray guns, airless sprayers, sanders, grinders, etc.
•    May be required to work at any workstation to meet production requirements. 
•    Inspect product to assure continued conformance to specifications using tape measure. 
•    When required, perform rework to nonconforming product. 
•    Complete all documentation associated with the operation. 
•    Work accurately and precisely to achieve production deadlines.
•    Demonstrate teamwork by working well with others and responding positively to constructive feedback.

Level II:  
In addition to above:
•    Read and interpret blueprints and engineering plan, use the blueprints along with other data, such as work plans, to fabricate and assemble projects.
•    Use calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers, layout, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, such as roofing panels, following drawings, or templates.
•    Conduct quality inspections on the finished goods.
•    Make sure that the entire completed item was produced in line with type design specifications and was certified as complying with approved quality system criteria.
•    Advanced proficiency with Layout-Fit up

Qualifications / Experience / Skills and Attributes
Requirements:
•    Minimum of one-year experience in assembly or fabrication shop
•    Regular attendance and punctuality is required. 
•    Good knowledge of the materials, tools, equipment, and machinery that are used in the industry is preferred. 
•    Able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with all customers, team members and management.
•    Ability to read and understand written procedures which apply directly to job duties.
•    Ability to read tape measure down to the 8th
•    Excellent organization and time management skills
•    Ability to take initiative and prioritize.
•    Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
•    Must bring personal typical hand tools aligned with Carpentry (i.e. tool pouch, 25’ tape measure, speed square, pliers, screwdrivers, chisel, and pry bars)

Level II: Additional Requirements
•    Minimum of three-years’ experience in assembly or fabrication shop
•    Ability to read tape measure down to the 16th
•    Ability to review and understand construction drawings and specifications.
•    Mechanically inclined 

Working Conditions / Schedule
•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting.
•    Hours: 6am – 2:30pm (MON-FRI)
o    30-minute lunch (unpaid)
o    15-minute break (paid)

Hourly Range between $15.00 - $18.00 DOE for level 1

Hourly Range between $18.00 - $20.00 DOE for level 2
