Machine Operator
Production Operator/Manufacturing Operator
OBJECTIVES:
- Set up and operates mechanical equipment.
- Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality per customer requirements both before and after product is packed.
- Keep work are clean and organized.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Make minor adjustments to machinery that is being operated.
- Supply/load trays, flexible packaging or cartons into machines.
- Perform required housekeeping to keep work areas clean such as sweeping floor, putting trash in trash containers, picking up product from floor.
- Perform assignments on all lines.
- Count product.
- Must be able to observe machine operation at all times.
- Place product or scrap into designated color-coded containers.
- Visually identify quality or bad product before and after it is packed. Remove/sort unacceptable product.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s) at all times.
- Verbally communicate instructions, problems, etc. to co-workers, supervisors and employees from all departments.
- Work in close proximity to co-workers.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and at most times independently.
- Meet Company attendance standards of start and end time for work as scheduled.
- Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law and Company policies.
- Comply with company rules, regulations and policies.
- Set scales and metal detectors.
- May perform other functions as assigned; e.g. May perform essential functions of the packer position during production slow downs.
OR
- Place raw ingredients into a mixer per designated formula and instructions.
- Operate mixing machine controls to mix ingredients.
- Places final product into troughs.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Prefer high school graduate or G.E.D.
- Good eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and at times independently.
- Ability to work with bagger, cartoner computer programs.
1st, 2nd and 3rd shift available
Temp to hire positions (Following 90-day evaluation)
$16.00-1st shift
$17.00-2nd and 3rd shift
**40+ hour work week (some Saturday work may be required)
