Mechanic
SUMMARY
- Inspect equipment to identify and diagnose trouble or malfunctions and make repairs required to bring equipment back on-line.
- Analyze equipment failures, determine causes, and make necessary repairs.
- Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform diagnostics to localize and isolate cause(s) for equipment malfunction or failure.
- Perform tasks require to repair equipment when breakdowns occur.
- Inspect machinery on a regular schedule, and perform Preventive Maintenance (PM).
- Perform tasks required to maintain buildings and equipment.
- Use a variety of materials, hand tools, and power tools for diagnostics as well as repair.
- Work effectively on their own without constant supervision.
- Communicate parts and material shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Consult blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Install and maintain various equipment, controls, automation, and instrumentation.
- Move waste to designated areas.
- Responsible for completing quality work.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Stay aware of potential hazards such as electrical shock, burns, falls, and cuts and bruises.
- Operate overhead cranes, mobile cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
- Complete daily logs of inspections and any repair work completed in the CMMS system.
- Communicate with operators from other shifts and/or other departments.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
- Assist operations for production activity as directed.
- Assist maintenance electricians as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act safely to prevent injury to self and to others, and to prevent damage to material or equipment.
- Housekeeping.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
- Communicate material supply and parts inventory needs.
- Stock inventory items in proper location as needed.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
- Assist in emergency situations as directed or previously instructed.
$19.00/hr ($20.75 after 30 days and $21.75/hr after 60 days)
