Quality Control Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise Quality duties (performed by various staff) and Sanitation procedures (performed by both in-house and contracted services staff)
- FDA/USDA/FSIS, and GMP compliance throughout company
§ Development of yearly inspection plan
§ Development, Implementation, and Maintenance of company program components
§ Act as backup to management of School Lunch Program reporting duties
§ Maintain ingredient and nutritional booklet; including all necessary updates.
§ Order and/or create (print) all ingredient labels and weight stickers (as necessary)
§ Approve all packaging for products – ingredients and weights
§ Produce All nutritional information
§ Development of packaging procedures
§ Identify and correct labeling non-compliant issues for all areas of the business
- Implement and maintain a Certificate of Analysis program for ingredients
- Initiate and maintain HACCP program including all documentation of Lot numbers, Truck inspections, cleaning, cooler, temperatures, weights, etc.
- Manage product and environmental microbiological testing program.
- Ingredient testing
- Manage recipe file in conjunctions with the Director of Operations, Vice President of R&D, and/or Plant Management
- Implement and maintain receiving policy that meets or exceeds standards.
- Manage pest control services
- Implement and manage recall program
- Ingredient specification maintenance
- Meet or beat budget goals
- Work with Plant Management and Production Supervision to reduce waste
- Set quality standards as necessary and develop programs to meet or exceed Global Standards (BRC).
- Continually reinforce a food safety culture by making employees aware of the need to report any evidence of unsafe, or out-of-specification product, or raw materials, to the Quality Manager so as to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
Requirements:
High School Diploma required
BS Degree in Food Science, Quality Control or Business
3-5 years previous food industry experience required
2+ years supervisory experience required
HACCP and/or BRC experience required
Advance computer skills and strong written communication skills required
5:00 am – 1:30 pm
Must be able to work OT and Saturdays when needed
