Position: Quality Technician

Location: Winterset, IA

Pay: $18-22/hr

Elite Staffing Inc. is accepting applications/resumes for a dayshift Quality Technician in Winterset, IA.   This Quality Technician will provide quality support throughout the entire organization.  The Quality Technician position will ensure the overall quality of manufactured products, related documentation and assurance to Company’s Quality Manual. This key role will be working with creating documentation, devising quality protocols and tests, and defining associated criteria.  This position will work directly with inspecting products and processes, performing internal audits to assess compliance, and Customer and 3rd Party audits. The Quality Technician will report results of those audits and inspections in order to drive continual improvement.


Support, create, implement, and improve quality processes and controls that meet Company’s  standards and requirements.

  • Inspect/audit incoming materials and components for compliance to specified requirements.
  • Initiates and oversees internal and external corrective action projects.
  • Measure and evaluate materials, components, and products utilizing designated gaging methods.
  • Document the results of inspections and audits.
  • Quarantine nonconforming product as appropriate.
  • Prepare rejected supplier components for return to supplier facility.
  • Perform process audits to assess compliance to specified requirements.
  • Collect process and product data to support continual improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate and/or perform product and inventory sorting and/or rework as, necessary.
  • Aid in the preparation of work instructions, forms, or other documentation, as assigned.
  • Promote the understanding of quality related tools and information through knowledge communication and guidance to other employees.
  • Perform other support functions as necessary or as assigned.


  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use gages (i.e. calipers, micrometers, specific test equipment, etc.).
  • Experience with performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with lot traceability requirements and practices.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and program usage (i.e. Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem solving and math skills.
  • Basic understanding of algebra and statistics.
  • Previous quality, manufacturing, or engineering experience preferred, specifically with sheet metal fabrication and welding.
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies.
  • Familiarity of ISO 9001:2015 standards and requirements.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a variety of assignments.


  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field or related discipline desired.
  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Professional Certifications desired:
    • American Welding Society
    • American Society for Quality
    • etc.
