Operations Supervisor
As an Operations Supervisor for the Aurora Specialty team, you’ll be helping to keep our distribution center operating smoothly. From training to problem-solving to maintaining equipment, your work will help save lives.
Specifically, we need you to:
- Support training, retraining and communication of SOPs to relevant employees as required.
- Organize staff training and development including equipment operating safety procedures.
- Monitor performance and conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews as well as performance improvement plans as required.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems and complaints.
- Communicate safety policies in accordance with applicable federal safety standards and local laws.
- Support special projects and assignments.
- Maintains communications with other departments with regards to any problem related to his/her area of coverage.
- Maintains excellent working environment focused on teamwork and open communication.
- Provide daily management presence, mentor staff and promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Ensure quality standards maintained with respect to project deliverables and client interactions.
- Provide professional internal/external presentations.
- Acts as the company’s primary resource in his/her area of expertise, providing leadership and direction on all related issues.
- Share technical and competitive information with colleagues and provide expertise to others when required.
- Promotes cooperation within own team as well as between groups and with other departments.
- All other assigned duties as presented by the manager.
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 3+ years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities
Education
4-year degree or equivalent experience
Critical Skills
- 2+ years managerial/supervisory experience
- Must be open to flexible hours to support the team, and our customer; must also be open to adjusting shift and overtime as needed based on business requirements
- Experience managing, leading, and developing staff
- Computer proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent and effective business communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and make strong business decisions
- Demonstrated employee engagement skills
- Experience inspiring a team, leveraging strengths, executing a strategy, advancing a business, and developing self/others
- Skill at communicating insights and understanding of issues and problems
- Experienced in analyzing data and conditions in real-time and adjusting as needed
Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Industry experience in logistics, supply chain, cold chain, warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment preferred
- Skilled in interviewing, coaching, evaluation, discipline, and record keeping
- SAP experience preferred
- MS Access proficiency and ability to interpret and analyze data
Physical Requirements
- High energy distribution center environment
- Some overtime required
26.00-37.00/hr
Monday to Thursday start time 5AM to completion of work.
Long Term, 6 months
