Rockwork Painter/ Rockwork Scenic Painter

 

Objective:

Responsible for working with Scenic Team in the laying out, priming, painting, texturing, sculpting, detailing of all scenic items pertaining to natural environment components and backdrops. To accurately represent the desired look and feel of the overall artistic integrity of the project and provide an excellent finished product representing the skills and capabilities held by the company.

 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for adhering to all Company and Project safety programs, policies, and procedures as well as all Federal, State, and local safety codes and regulations.
  • Working with urethanes, water based, oil based, stains, lacquers, epoxies, etc.
  • Use of industry-standard tools and equipment including spray guns, airless sprayers, sanders, grinders, power washer.
  • Prep, setup, and cleanup of paint operations to include cleaning of tools, spoils and debris.
  • Assist in organization and maintenance of workspaces and tools.
  • Load, unload, and move material within or near the laydown yard or jobsite.
  • Perform paint techniques such as washes, glazes, textures, priming, base coating and clear coating.
  • Perform tasks in repetition to meet deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of theming rockwork, figure, and character theming
  • Competent to mix colors and washes.
  • Full scale Scenic & Theming finish.
  • Ability to creating wood, metal, and aging/distressing of most things.
  • Extensive knowledge of product specifications and usage and applied craftsmanship in the painting and the application of scenic color treatments upon various mediums (plaster, sculptable epoxies, FRP, GFRC, etc.) to emulate the natural environment components and artwork requirements provided by the Client for specific project.
  • Orders paint, art materials, tools, and equipment; keeps inventory of same.
  • Trains others in specialized procedures and techniques.

 

Qualifications / Experience/ Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum of three-years’ verifiable experience in the theming industry.
  • Previous experience in construction or capable of highly physical work
  • Strong knowledge of painting machinery and techniques.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of painting techniques.
  • Ability to absorb and reproduce techniques and procedures using approved materials and tools.
  • Strong time management and planning skills.
  • Ability to be punctual and dependable.
  • A personal value system demonstrably consistent with organizational values
  • Show proper care and respect for personal and company tools and materials.
  • Must be enthusiastic, hardworking, desire to learn and ready to share their knowledge.

 
$25.00-27.00/hr DOE
