Electrical Design Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for developing electrical drawings for power system wiring and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This role focuses on electrical system design, specifically for power distribution systems. The Electrical Design Engineer will support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality electrical layouts, schematics, and diagrams for power solutions.
 

PRIMARY REPSONSIBILITES:

• Create and review electrical drawings for power system wiring, including layout diagrams, schematics, and electrical panel designs.
• Work with project engineers and customers to ensure electrical designs meet project specifications and requirements.
• Interpret and apply electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to all wiring designs.
• Coordinate regulatory projects with UL, ETL, CSA and other agencies.
• Prepare and modify technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical.
• Ensure accurate and efficient designs for power distribution, grounding, and control systems.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless implementation of electrical systems on the shop floor.
• Provide technical support and resolve issues related to electrical systems during the production process.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations to optimize electrical system performance and safety.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure all electrical designs are up to date and compliant with company and industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEE, IEC).
• Strong understanding of power distribution systems, wiring practices, and electrical safety.
• Able to work both independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication (verbal & written), and organizational skills.

EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical system design, preferably in power systems.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

$65,000.00-90,000.00 DOE

8am-5pm
