Production Associate

 

Our Production Associate is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide variety of tasks in order to produce high-quality product that conforms to customer specifications. The primary purpose of this job is to be in charge of the correct quality of materials and the end products produced by the company to safely and cost-effectively achieve performance targets. Production Associates are responsible for assisting in duties related to keeping the line running smoothly.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Complete various production tasks as assigned by the Production Operator.
  • Clears pan jams from the line and removes and adds baking pans as needed.
  • Troubleshoots basic causes of line stops and restarts production.
  • Assist the production operator in line startups and changeovers.
  • Oversee product quality and ensure the product is being produced in compliance with customer specifications.
  • Maintain high rates of production as set by the Operator and Production Supervisor.
  • Separates rework from raw dough waste whenever possible to minimize waste.
  • Monitor and deliver side trimmings to mixer; notify operator when side trimmings exceed acceptable rates.
  • Removes all out-of-spec products from the line and notifies the Production Supervisor of all non-conforming products or processes on the line.
  • Contributes to a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance, safely performs tasks, and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related responsibilities, as needed or directed by the Production Supervisor and Manager.
  • Plan, problem solve, foster healthy peer relations, and motivate others.

 

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Follow all GMP's, Food Defense, and quality policies.
  • Ensures compliance with all GMP, food hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detectors, screen or magnet deviancies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Work in a noisy environment for the length of the shift
  • Able to stand for long periods
  • Willing to acquire a wide variety of skills to assist the surrounding team and fully understand the processes
  • Able to problem solve, learn on the fly, process and technical learning, and quality decisions.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The incumbent is subject to manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environments which include proximity to moving parts and exposure to heat, odors, and noise.
  • The position requires the employee to stand, walk, sit, reach above shoulder level, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift to 50 pounds.
  • The position requires flexibility regarding start-times and the number of hours to be worked daily (this is not a “9 to 5” job). Work can include weekend hours as the needs of the business dictate.

 

1st shift:

4am-12pm or 5am-1pm

$12.00/hr
