Machine Operator
Bakery Machine Operator  

 

Accountable for operating bakery-pastry machinery and its associated downstream equipment. The Bakery Machine Operator will monitor and control the continuous flow of products through the production process, from mixing ingredients to oven baking to product packaging. The Machine Operator will adjust control panel settings as needed.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate assigned machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Equipment may include Icing, Packing, Oven, Mixer & Laminator equipment.
  • Maintains and adjusts freezer-retard temperature and sets a timer to the required setting.
  • Monitors the process to ensure continuous bakery product process flow through conveyor systems.
  • Will operate various PLC panels to control the proper flow of product.
  • Troubleshoots process and makes speed adjustments.
  • Document weight, product yield, downtime, and additional metrics.
  • Collaborates with the in-line Crew Leader or other operators to ensure continuous product flow.
  • Adjusts Ensuring product standards, specifications, and customer requirements are met.

 

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Follow all GMPs, Food Defense, and quality policies.
  • Ensures all GMP and all food hygiene and safety standards comply.

 

Qualifications:

  • Have received a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Flexible on work schedule including start times and weekend work.
  • Exceptional mathematical skills.
  • Willing to acquire a wide variety of skills to assist the surrounding team and fully understand the processes.
  • Patience is necessary to maintain and facilitate a series of continuous events.
  • Must be able to problem solve, learn on the fly, process and technical learning.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of baking processes, equipment, and terminology is desired

 

Physical Demands:

  • Manually lift, pour, and guide large amounts of ingredients.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stand, arrange, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of the shift.

 

2nd shift:  

12pm-10pm or 2pm-12:00am

$12.00-13.00/hr
