Logistics Associate
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Associate to join our team. The Logistics Associate is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods throughout the supply chain. This role will manage daily logistics operations, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and help drive continuous improvement in our processes to support timely deliveries and exceptional customer service. This role also supports the Operations team, working in conjunction with the Shipping Clerk, by scheduling and coordinating inbound receiving appointments to ensure a timely and organized flow of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of outgoing freight to the customer.
- Schedule and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with company and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to optimize delivery routes and minimize costs.
- Conduct quarterly RFPs for carrier rates.
- Schedule freight for all customers, including daily communication and follow-up with carriers on loading and delivery delays while the load is in transit. Involves counterpart customer service reps to notify respective customers.
- Monitor and resolve any transportation or delivery issues, including delays or damages, and utilize critical thinking to determine the best course of action.
- Coordinate and schedule receiving appointments with carriers and suppliers to ensure efficient dock utilization and smooth operations.
- Daily interaction with BRW, Freezpak, and other 3PLs for order, shipping, and inventory issues.
- Ensure customer information details are kept up to date.
- Resolves freight claims on a timely basis.
- Cultivates a competitive environment for quality carriers at the best prices.
- Track freight expenses, on-time deliveries, and other key metrics.
- Provide EDI / ASNs to customers as needed.
- Other duties will be assigned as the business dictates.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
- 1+ years of experience in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a problem-solving mindset and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Hands-on experience with ERP and EDI technology.
- Strong time management skills and proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
$20.00-23.00/hr DOE
