Shipping/Receiving/Logistics Clerk
Logistics Coordinator
Job Duties:
- Prepare items for shipment which includes compares/identifies and counts, weighs or measures items for outgoing shipments
- Review technical drawings to ensure shipment count is accurate
- Determine dimensional requirements and assemble custom boxes and/or build custom wood crates
- Pack boxes using space fillers and protective padding to ensure products are packed correctly and meet specifications for domestic and/or international shipment
- Generate shipping labels (UPS Worldship, FedEx Ship Manager and/or other third-party software or website)
- Complete customs paperwork as needed
- Schedule and complete all paperwork for international, domestic small package or freight LTL pick up.
- Ship small packages, coordinate certification of crates, and work with outside shipping brokers as needed
- Receive inbound shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and records
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies, notifying administrator when supplies are low
- Manage fastener inventor cage by maintaining accurate check out procedures
- Oversee finished stock inventory
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 1 – 3 years of logistics/shipping experience preferred
- Working knowledge of forklift operation preferred
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 65 pounds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have working knowledge of using measurement tools, building crates and operating machinery
- Remain calm and steady under the functioning demands/deadlines of daily shipping
- Work efficiently and effectively without supervision
- Be accurate, precise, thorough, with attention to detail and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and adapt to change
- Proficient computer skills
