JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all established safety, health, quality, GMP and all other Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
  • Ability and desire to willingly learn and help whomever and wherever assistance is needed.
  • Assist with rework and heldware to ensure effective disposition.
  • Be flexible to work other shifts and work overtime to successfully complete all duties of the position.
  • Collect, transfer and band unusable corrugate using compactor/baler.
  • Communicate observed safety, production or quality problems to the Shift Supervisor or Manager
  • Communicate with incoming shift or line replacement on any problems with quality, machine, and packing configurations.
  • Communicate with Supervisor and with other shifts regarding quality, rework, lines, staffing, safety, etc.
  • Complete Standard Work as outlined for the position.
  • Complete written documentation as required.
  • De-label and grind bottles as necessary, checking for contamination before grinding and replacing good bottles back on the conveyor before the leak detector in approved rework areas.
  • Enter information from the production schedule into a computer and generate production stickers for finished goods.  Manage the distribution of the stickers and ensure that they are applied sequentially and on the correct product.
  • Follow all working instructions given by the manager or supervisor.
  • Follow basic tasks against standards, including periodic checks of machines, auxiliary equipment, materials, and review readings and charts as needed.
  • Fulfills Lock-Out/Tag-Out requirements as authorized.
  • Initiate timely corrective actions when issues arise.
  • Maintain a commitment to promote a respectful and productive team environment; assist and train others as needed, help with break coverage.
  • Maintain work area and production floor to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
  • May assist in production data entry.
  • May be required to coordinate/oversee rework, heldware and downstream employees to ensure effective staffing utilization.
  • May be required to verify and record banding and stretch wrap characteristics and settings.
  • May be responsible for cleaning employee common areas. 
  • May perform miscellaneous Lift Truck Operation responsibilities. 
  • Notify the supervisor or maintenance technician of conditions that require further work.
  • Notify the forklift driver or assignee when supplies at the machine need to be replenished.
  • Notify the line Operator, QA Tech, and/or supervisor of potential problems with finished product and/or machinery.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.
  • Participate in meetings to review palletizer, quality, line issues.
  • Perform daily/monthly Preventative Maintenance on general packaging equipment, as assigned.
  • Perform weekly production supply inventories, and replenish supplies throughout the production floor as required.
  • Perform and Assist with the finished goods product quality, audits, and containment.
  • Properly dispose of waste following established policies and applicable laws.
  • Reinstall doors, covers and guards after completing work on the machine and return the work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Report production and scrap information as required.
  • Responsible for the training and safety of temporary workers.
  • Safely operate, perform minor adjustments on, and train regular and temporary workforce in: Stockhandling, Packing, Quality, Palletizers, Banders, Stretch Wrappers, Case Machines, Conveyors, and Balers.
  • Safely restart, start, stop, and clear all downstream equipment as required.
  • Visually inspect all finished products for defects and ensure that cases are properly sealed, strapped, stacked, and orienting cases and units in the correct unit load pattern and in accordance to customer specifications.
