Industrial Painter
New Berlin, WI
1st and 3rd Shifts Available
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Temp-to-Perm

Summary: Prepares surfaces and applies epoxy and urethane wet paints to obtain
high-grade finishes on parts or products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Applies masking tape and/or caps to protect parts and components that are not to be coated.
  • Wet coats surfaces of manufactured products with epoxy and urethane coatings. Adjust valves on spray gun to regulate width and pressure of spray.
  • Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat. Properly cleans and maintains all spray equipment.

Qualifications:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



Education and/or Experience:

  • High school education or General Education Diploma (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Language Skills:

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.



Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • No certifications needed.

Work Environment:


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • A full mask respirator with carbon filters or make up air, full paint suit and gloves must be worn at all times during the coating process to protect the painter from fumes and particles.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment if usually moderate.
