Maintenance Technician

Job Duties:

  • Assistance with development, and, execution of our Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Services engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines such as Homogenizers, Separators, Pasteurizers, steam generators, ammonia systems, compressors, evaporators, condensers, cooling towers, and other industrial equipment.
  • Removes and replaces defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications;
  • Proficient with basic 120 VAC control circuits and 3 phase AC voltage sources (277/480 VAC) to complete routine electrical repair, adjustment, and installation work. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventories.
  • Maintains technical knowledge and possess a drive for continuous improvement by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications Required:

  • High school education or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Five or more years of industrial manufacturing engineering/maintenance experience preferred
  • Prior experience in food/beverage manufacturing preferred
  • Certifications preferred: EPA, Ammonia Systems, HVAC, Electrical
