Production Lead

Assist Area Supervisor in ensuring that departmental goals in Safety, Quality, and Productivity are achieved consistently. Trouble-shoot problem areas and recommend/take corrective actions as required. Ensure good housekeeping, safety, line staffing and performance. Assist in controlling material movement throughout the manufacturing process.

Job Duties:

• Actively participate in the company’s safety program.

• Ensure that the employees are provided a safe work environment.

• Ensure all associates attend required safety training

• Assist Area Supervisor in training all employees on quality requirements.

• Conduct a thorough line clearance prior to start-up.

• Ensure Quality Checks are being performed

• Ensure that line scrap is kept separate from good production.

• Identify and implement corrective actions to ensure that lines are operating at 100% efficiency to standard.

• Ensure that all assigned line operate at standard speed and crew size.

• Line leaders must motivate their team and show support and guidance throughout the shift.

• Clearly relay instructions and procedures so that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.

• Assist Area Supervisor in optimal use of labor force to reduce idle time.

• Prepare and maintain batch records. Ensure all documentation is correct and filled out according to policy.

• Ensure that the daily shift report contains accurate information and is completed on time.

Special physical requirements for performing the essential functions of the job(e.g. must lift 50-lbs onto waist high shelves):

Must be able to lift at least 50lbs waist high.

Ability to stand long periods of time and walk up and down stairs and over obstacles.

Preferred Experience:

Line Leadership Experience 1-3 yrs.

Material movement and labor management experience in a fast pace production environment for 1-3yrs.

Preferred Education: 12th grade or GED.

Required Skills:

• Ability to do basic math which includes but is not limited to, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages and averages.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively and seamlessly with all levels of management.
• Strong Line Leadership – Understanding of how to motivate, manage and direct people to drive the objective.
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills. Some LEAN experience is preferred

2nd shift 4pm-12pm

3rd 10:30 pm-7am

18.00-19.00/hr plus shift differential of .50 cents to 1.00 depending on shift

OT Avail- 4 hrs per day
