Production Supervisor

A Production Supervisor is a working, hands-on supervisory position. A supervisor is responsible for multiple production lines on an assigned shift. Individuals in this position are responsible for ensuring all production processes and quality procedures are performed, followed and enforced

Requirements:

  • Follow all general work rules, policies and procedures

  • Must have experience as a production supervisor or lead person in a food manufacturing facility

  • Must be fluent in English (read, write and speak)

  • Must be computer literate

  • Must be mechanically inclined.

  • Must be a high school graduate

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all products meet or exceed all company quality standards

  • Ensure all established production department standards for products are followed and adhered to.

  • Ensure all quality checks are properly performed at required intervals.

  • Ability to resolve any quality issues by following established defect criteria.

  • Ensure special projects are properly produced following all GMP’s, quality checks and lot tracking requirements.

  • Professionally resolve interpersonal conflicts on the production floor by following established guidelines and procedures

  • Effectively communicate company ideals, principles and goals to all team members across all shifts.

  • Develop and cross train personnel into successful, talented and knowledgeable team members.

  • Manage multiple people in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Install team-building principles, develop team members into successful long-term employees and promote positive reinforcement.

  • Ability to run All-Fill machine and make minor adjustments including weight, height and timing

  • Ability to perform function test on metal detector, make minor adjustments, recalibrate metal detector

  • Ability to change and make minor adjustments to codes on ink coder. This includes positioning, clarity and information.

  • Ensure all established production department rate standards and schedules

  • Ability to operate and thread Axon label machine. Also make minor adjustments including placement of labels onto bottles, timing and length of label.

  • Ability to run and make minor adjustments to steam tunnel. Minor adjustments include temperature and timing.

  • Ability to run enercon sealer and make minor adjustments. These include adjustments to increase seal strength.

  • Ability to set and run check weigher as well as making minor adjustments to tare unfilled bottles.

  • Ability to thread, load and adjust label-air machine

  • Ability to thread, load and adjust case sealer.

  • Understand how to read and interpret product codes and labels

  • Ability to understand scan guns and record production and labor with correct lot numbers and quantities.

  • Ensure all trash from production rooms/lines is disposed of including wiping down tables, sweeping and mopping floors and taking trash to outside dumpsters

  • Ability to record production and Sage and print appropriate labels.

  • Ability to perform changeovers for size and product on all equipment.

  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are properly cleaned and sanitized according to established procedures.

  • Ensure safe operation of all equipment and material movement devices.

  • All other duties as assigned by the department manager

Will have Authority To:

  • Stop any line to address quality issues and place product on hold.

  • Move people to cross train or address quality issues

  • Authorize any repairs to equipment

Issue appropriate disciplinary action to employees
