Quality Assurance Tech


The Quality Assurance Associate will be a part of the Quality Department’s team and be responsible for enforcing the compliance and implementation of unique programs to ensure process and product quality. This individual will oversee the daily production and laboratory operations through collaborative relationships with Production Staff, Quality Staff & Leadership to uphold company policies, formulas, specifications, and regulatory requirements as well as ensuring all finished goods meet product quality and food safety standards. This position requires an individual to work and develop relationships across functions both within the company and externally with suppliers, governmental agencies, and outside services.


- Perform antibiotic, and bacteriological tests in addition to measuring the butterfat of raw and pasteurized milk and milk products

- Tracking usage of ingredients from receiving to final products

- Monitor processes and employee compliance to ensure quality is being maintained; proper labels are being used; presentation of final product is as expected

- Participate in the Product Development Process

- Draft Standard Operating Procedures for Production and Quality Department implementation

- Perform internal plant walkthroughs and document corrective actions

- Complete and record results of Experimental Designs as assigned by the Quality Manager

- Attend to the overall Laboratory cleanliness, house-keeping, and organization

- Maintain quality programs such as Fluid Shelf Life program, Environmental Pathogen Monitoring Program, Post Production Product Evaluation program, Pre Production Product Evaluation program and Incoming Ingredient Evaluation program

- Submit samples to third party evaluators

- Focus on continuous improvement for the Quality Department by constantly thinking about and evaluating the existing Quality Programs – provide recommendations to streamline existing programs when necessary and possible, and recommend new programs to meet new challenges as those opportunities present themselves

- Ensure compliance with the federal, state, and local standards and legislation through daily documentation verification and entry including tank washing titration logs, vitamin usage logs, daily production worksheet review and receiving volume entry

- Assist in projects as directed by the Quality Manager

- Provide training to new and existing employees as needed

- Maintain organized records for the Quality Department


- Extensive understanding of laboratory practices, techniques, and equipment

- Detailed understanding of ATP and allergens

- Experience with HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Training

- Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations concerning the dairy industry

- Ability to develop standards for products and processes

- Strong analytic and communication skills with computer knowledge to leverage those skills

- Creative problem solving skills combined with innovative approaches to resolve complex problems

- Ability to create Experimental Designs and communicate results methodically

- Model a “can-do” and team player approach in all work activities
