Quality Technician

The Quality Technician position is responsible for training, implementing, monitoring and maintaining the Quality Program. This includes testing and releasing all incoming raw materials; testing and releasing all bases and finished product; and maintaining all documentation in support of the traceability and product recall system. .

JOB DUTIES

SAFETY

• Acts as a safety leader.

• Assists with the overall safety, health, and environment of the plant.

• Supports product safety, quality and legality.

REGULATORY

• Helps perform recall and traceability exercises on raw materials and finished products.

• Performs Walk Through Inspections (i.e. sanitation, cleaning, and pest control) and documents and trends all information.

• Supports, and complies with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food/feed safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.

QUALITY

• Monitors plant quality.

• Runs sample/release program.

• Tests raw materials, bases and finished products.

• Performs quality testing – Organoleptic, Bulk Density, Specific Gravity, Density, etc. using Standard Operating Procedures and specified laboratory equipment as applicable.

• Tracks and trends all data.

• Creates Certificate of Analysis and Certificate of Free Sale documents.

• Stores and accesses retained samples as needed.

• Reviews and releases all base and final product labels.

• Assists with product issues within the Quality and Production areas.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Supports Quality & Regulatory Manager during trainings and audits.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Two-year degree preferred in a science discipline.

• One (1) year laboratory experience required.

• Must have experience working in a cGMP, ISO, SFSF, or SQF environment.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

• Agricultural and manufacturing experience desirable.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• Experience in the development and/or manufacturing of flavor agents for either humans or animals, desirable.

$17.00/hr

6am – 2:30pm or 7am – 3:30pm
