Shipping Clerk

SUMMARY

Performs the shipment of finished goods in compliance with established procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accurately completes shipping records and related documentation

Performs finished goods inspections per approved procedures

Organizes department daily activities

Coordinates and schedules the shipments of finished goods with Customer Project Coordinator's and Carrier's

Interfaces with carrier personnel

Maintains finished goods warehouse area

Performs job operations utilizing a data management system

Assists in training department personnel

Initiates and reports unusual conditions to Management

Maintains a clean and orderly work area

Complies with standard operating procedures, GMP's and safety guidelines

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Temporary to hire

$16.00 to $17.00/hr depending on the skill set.

(Training will be on first shift for two to three weeks. 9am to 5 pm)

2nd shift: 4 pm to 1230 am but subject to change.
