Purchasing Coordinator Construction/Purchasing

Job Duties:

  • Procure materials and equipment to meet the needs of the Construction Department.
  • Source vendors and suppliers for construction materials and equipment.
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project requirements and vendor payment deadlines.
  • Control inventory, tracking stock levels and managing restocking needs.
  • Coordinate and ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of construction materials to job sites.
  • Develop and maintain a document control system for managing shipping, receiving, and inventory records tied to job “need by” dates.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure that materials are procured and delivered according to project timelines and specifications.

(Track material budget category spends to notify team early if there is an issue.)

  • Monitor vendor performance, ensuring compliance with agreements and quality standards.
  • Assist in cost analysis and budgeting related to procurement activities.
  • Resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, or vendor disputes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Post applicable field info (labor/material budget info, PO confirmations) to project files in course of managing job.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of purchasing experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment (construction preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with proven ability to develop and manage supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as COINS for construction.
  • Knowledge of document control, inventory management, and shipping/receiving processes.
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings is advantageous.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, with a proven track record of thoroughness.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests with varying deadlines and levels of urgency.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.

7:00am-3:30pm

$32.00-35.00/hr DOE
