Batch Maker/ Compounder

A first level processor is responsible for pre-weighing raw materials for the compounding department. They are responsible for the operation and control of the pre-weigh equipment. The position is responsible for accurate measuring, labeling and assembling of raw materials for manufacturing and trial runs utilizing a computerized ingredient tracking and labeling system. Must maintain the accuracy of documentation involving control numbers, item codes, expiration dates, scale verifications and correct weight of components. Must assure oldest lots of materials are used first. Must work safely while maintaining cleanliness and following all appropriate cGMP regulations. Works in a team where one performs the duties and one person verifies the findings. Trains on making and mixing batches in the vessels.

 

Job Duties:

  • Weigh or measure, label and assemble approved raw materials to be used in the manufacture of products.
  • Complete documentation including raw material issuance forms. Active ingredient verification and batch record documentation.
  • Verify the accuracy of the name, control number, item code, expiration date and weight of all raw materials to be used in manufacturing.
  • VERIFY OLDEST LOT NUMBERS ARE USED BEFORE NEWER LOT NUMBERS.
  • Use safety equipment that is appropriate and consistent with raw material being weighed.
  • Complete daily scale verification and ensure scales are up to date with calibrations.
  • Produce labels and properly identify each ingredient on its corresponding container.
  • Complete movements of approved raw materials where needed.
  • Complete movements of approved raw materials where needed.
  • Assure the pre-weigh booths are kept clean and organized.
  • Assure applicable equipment are checked out daily and in proper working order.
  • Observe color, smell and properties for raw materials. Report any differences to the processing supervisor or Director of Operations.
  • Accurately completes required documentation consistent with GMP; s and procedural requirements.
  • Follows safety policies and maintains good housekeeping in accordance with GMP’s.
  • Wears corresponding PPE (personal protective equipment) required for the handling of each raw ingredient.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • This Person will be working with raw materials, so someone with mixing paint experience would be preferred
  • Previous experience weighing out material
  • Following batch instructions
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English well.
  • Must have clear, legible handwriting and excellent communication skills
  • Must have good mathematical skills and ability to weigh and measure ingredients
  • English and math skills are subject to testing for qualification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must have working knowledge of applicable GMPs and procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently in various areas.
  • Must be able to follow up on and investigate inventory discrepancies
  • Must have or acquire ability/license to operate powered lift tucks

  • Must be accurate when weighing raw ingredients
  • Must adhere to procedures, batch quality and equipment upkeep
  • Requires a logical though process and good follow through skills
  • Must use common sense concerning product quality
  • Must be able to achieve minimum KPI’s
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must document activities to a high degree
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to packaging needs

 

Temporary to Hire

$25.00/hr. plus 1.00/hr. shift differential

3rd shift: 10:30 pm – 6:30 am
