Machine Operator

Responsible for setting up and operating the following equipment: Vertical Form Fill Seal Machines, Combination Weight Scales, Data Printing Machinery, Check Weigher and Metal Detector.

Job Duties:

• Operates assigned machinery efficiently and safely.
• Responsible for production output of assigned line
• Performs simple maintenance and reports malfunctioning equipment immediately to Supervisor.
• Continuously monitors product for defects and quality/safety issues.
• Assists and guides co-workers in the process of packaging products
• Maintains a safe and clutter free work area.
• Reports property damages and safety hazards to Production Supervisor and/or Human Resources Manager immediately.
• Completes needed paperwork by writing or signing with accuracy and neatness.
• Checks personal work as well as work of line workers according to customer specifications and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Communicates with co-workers and supervisor in order to solve production problems in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates and explains job functions to co-workers.
• Follows and sustains 5S program
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Machine set-up and troubleshooting skills required
• HACCP/GMPs/SQF experience preferred
• Able to work within timelines and in stressful situations
• Available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends when needed
• Able to stand for sustained periods of time, approximately 10-12 hours a day
• Able to work in refrigerated environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb to perform job functions as needed
