Shipping Manager

Primary Purpose:

The Shipping Manager will manage and coordinate the activities of the shipping department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the shipping activities and budget of the department.
  • Conduct finished goods related inventory as required by the organization.
  • Develop, train and continuously improve shipping operations policies and procedures.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the shipping operations.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork.
  • Lead and attend daily meetings with other managers to coordinate activities to achieve daily production schedule and improve performance and productivity.
  • Complete annual training program for maximum operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in shipping, 3PL or production environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and understand MRP is helpful.
  • Understands monthly revenue targets / daily run rates.
  • Communicates to team effectively to achieve monthly goals for the business.
  • Experience with handling 500 shipping orders per day, preferred.
  • Must be adept at handling pressure in various customer and carrier situations and working well under deadlines.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or in a similar discipline.
  • High School Diploma with relevant work experience will also be considered.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage of team of 8-12 individuals to route and load trucks for multiple direct to consumer and retail customers.
  • Assist in the maintenance and reporting of the On-Time shipping metrics for all customers.
  • Train and mentor the shipping teams and support onboarding of any new personnel.

$70,000.00-100,000.00 DOE

Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm or 8am-5pm , plus Saturdays when needed
