Forklift Driver / Material Handler

Performs daily activities in the warehouse to ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage and retrieval of inventory for production.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Drives a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count product
• Unloads delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, hand cart, or by hand if necessary
• Ensures inbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; reports quality variances to the Receiving Clerk and Warehouse Supervisor
• Efficiently moves product to storage areas, and removes for staging to production line(s) in correct locations
• Pulls and prepares product for production, matching requests with the exact number and type of material
• Removes finished products from palletizer and places on storage racking
• Operates robot trolleys to store pallets in racking
• Other duties as may be assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of computerized inventory/tracking systems and barcoding preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group
• Proficient with reading and interpreting documents
• Adept with hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Able to handle working on and completing projects within tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism

Education and Experience:

• 1-2 years’ experience in warehouse forklift operations
• High School diploma or GED required
• Bi-lingual Spanish a plus
• Certified forklift experience, or the ability to pass certification test

Supervisor Responsibilities:

• None

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Majority of work occurs in a typical warehouse environment, operating a sit or stand forklift. Moderate walking and standing in the warehouse, interacting with staging personnel, unloaders/loaders and drivers. Exposure to heat, cold, dampness, humidity, slippery and uneven surfaces. Follow and adhere to all company safety policies and regulations.

10-hour shifts Monday – Thursday, or 8-hour shifts Monday – Friday, with an occasional need for overtime as required to complete activities.

$15.00-16.00/hr

6:00am-4:30pm
