Job Description

Material Handler
Perform duties to pull jobs and pull parts for production departments and shipments; move and stock
materials to storage areas for production needs, cycle count and request replenishment for stocked items
in production areas. Stock and prepare packaging and skids at appropriate locations.  

 Job Responsibilities: 

• Working from a live schedule for manufacturing jobs and sales orders, accurately pull orders
from warehouse storage area to production lines as requested by leads
• Update live schedule to include where jobs are currently located
• Keep production departments supplied with in-process parts, materials and supplies
• Request or pull items requested or where required from stock areas and truck to production area
• Visually inspect materials received for defects and proper quantity
• Maintain accurate records of available material and stock in storage areas to control in-house
• Utilize available storage space in an efficient manner; arrange for materials to be rotated in proper
“first in, first out” manner
• Stock in-process inventory in proper locations; notify lead if parts are not in location or wrong
part in location
• Perform inventory cycle counts as specified
• Move completed jobs to specified departments in timely manner
• Utilize the Vantage terminal and handheld scanners in various record keeping tasks and reports
• Follow all ISO procedures and guidelines
• Assist in Material Handling in fabrication, Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse departments and
other departments as needed
• Follow and promote safety rules, POD safety program, safe operating procedures and practices
• Engage in training of employees and cross-training, perform backup functions to other
department members as instructed
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 1+ years experience in Material Handling, Warehouse or Inventory strongly preferred
• Strong quality control skills
• Must be able to read CAD drawings to properly identify stocked parts
• Computer experience and using an ERP system, ideally Epicor, to follow a live production
schedule and to use as a resource for job location
• Forklift certification strongly preferred; hand truck experience required
